What is crate digging in NowPlaying?

Crate digging is a way to browse albums by flipping sleeves, like records in a shop. Pull a sleeve forward to move on, drag one out for a closer look and a preview, then favourite it or put it back.

Which albums are in the crate?

The crate is stocked with new arrivals from the last two weeks that have cover art, including upcoming releases. Matching editions are merged so each album appears once. Albums older than two weeks, or without artwork, are left out.

Where do favourited albums go?

A favourited album is saved to Rated Albums in NowPlaying, so you can come back to it after you leave the crate.

Crate digging.

Flip through new albums the way you would in a record shop. Pull a sleeve forward, take one out for a closer look, and hear it before you decide.

Dig through the crate

How it feels

The same gesture you already know from a shop, on your phone or iPad.

1

Flick through the crate

Sleeves stand in a row, the way they do in a shop. Pull one forward to move on, or flick the last sleeve back into place.
2

Take a closer look

Drag a sleeve out and it turns to face you. The screen takes on the album’s colors, and a preview starts playing.
3

Keep the ones you love

Favourite an album and it lands in Rated Albums. Put the sleeve back in the crate when you want to keep digging.
